what's a little pity party between friends?

So, that cranky cold I mentioned? Not so much a cold but still oh so very cranky.

I have otitis. An ear infection. Really. I'm a 33 y/o grown woman with an ear infection. It's not that I'm not fully aware that it is more than possible to have otitis as an adult. It just makes me feel like a kid again. And not in a good way. Ya know?

I had tons of problems with my ears growing up. But the last time I struggled with this was almost 15 years ago. I was 18 y/o and it was my senior prom. Woohoo. Even then I remember thinking that I was way too old for this crap. The drama ended with pain relief by way of an eardrum rupture the morning after prom. Double woohoo.

Never anticipated a repeater. I couldn't sleep at all last night. The pain was that bad. If there had been an object small enough to fit into my ear canal handy by my bedside, I may very well have done something drastic. I, after all, remember the sweet release of a good ol' hole to the tympanic membrane. Yep. That bad.

Got through the day with heavy doses of ibuprofen and tylenol along with the very sweet and accommodating Clayton by my side. When I got to work this afternoon I had one of my partners take a peak in my offending ear.

So, yeah. Otitis.

Woohoo. Woohoo. Woohoo.

Makes me miss my momma . . .
